Unlock or lock a ledger account for manual registration
Some ledger accounts in the chart of accounts are locked for manual accounting. This applies to accounts for purchases and sales and for cash and bank accounts. This is the default setting, because
If you nonetheless need to create a manual journal entry for a locked ledger account, you can unlock the account.
Unlock a ledger account for manual registration
You can unlock an account if you want to post a manual journal entry to it.
- Select Settings to open the menu.
- Select Chart of accounts.
- Select correct Financial year that you wish to unlock the account for.
- Select the account to unlock from the chart of accounts.
- Select Edit.
- Uncheck the Do not allow manual registration box.
- Select Save.
Lock a ledger account for manual registration
You can lock an account if you want to prevent manually posting to it.
- Select Settings to open the menu.
- Select Chart of accounts.
- Select the account to lock from the chart of accounts.
- Select Edit.
- Check the Do not allow manual registration box.
- Select Save.
