Which details about absence should be reported in the payroll tax report?
To allow Försäkringskassans to monitor parental benefits and temporary parental benefits payments, absence information must be reported in payroll tax reports starting from January 1, 2025. Skatteverket will then forward the information to Försäkringskassan.
Information that should be included in the report:
- date of absence
- hours or percentage per day
- type of leave (temporary parental benefits or parental leave)
In the payroll tax report, it should be reported how much absence the employee has per day.
If you enter the hours for a period, they will be distributed across the days in the period. You will then need to adjust so that the correct number of hours or percentage is reported per day.
Choose one of these options:
- Unlock the pay run and make the adjustments on the employee's payslip, then send the payroll tax report.
- Log in to skatteverket.se and make adjustments in the payroll tax report after it has been sent to Skatteverket. You can adjust the absence details as long as the payroll tax report is not signed.
