Link employee to work schedule
There are many advantages when it comes to linking work schedules to employees. You’ll automatically get help calculating the correct overtime for part-time employees and the right compensation for overtime. You can also see when unsociable hours pay should be paid, while absence hours, such as sick leave and parental leave, are handled correctly in the pay run. On top of that, flex time and seasonal working hours are easier to manage.
Under Settings - Payroll settings and the Work schedules tab, you click on the icon in the Employee column to see which employees who are linked to the work schedule.
To choose a work schedule with irregular working hours for employees on a monthly salary, the schedule needs to include settings for average weekly working hours and average employment rate.
Do the following to link an employee to a work schedule:
- Select Settings - Payroll settings.
- Select the Work schedules tab.
- Select the
icon to the right in the Employees column on the row for the work schedule you are link the employee to.
- Select the employees you want to link, or tick the box at the top of the column to select all.
You can filter the list by workforce category and pay type. Combine the filters if you only want to show, for example, administrative workers with a monthly salary.
- Click Next.
- Click the pencil icon next to each employee and enter from what date the work schedule should be applied in the Applies from. Enter the date in the YYYY-MM-DD format, or select a date using the calendar button.
- Click the green check mark to save the setting.
When a row is active, icons for changing and deleting a change are shown in the Actions column.
- Click Save and continue.
In the last step all employees that have been updated with a new work schedule are shown, as well as when they are valid from.
