Payroll
Book employees' salaries on cost centres and projects
When you post employees' salaries to cost centres and/or projects, you'll get control of the company's payroll costs.
Do the following:
- Select Settings - Payroll settings.
- Select the Accounting tab.
- Check Use cost centres and/or Use projects.
When you register employee salaries in cost centres and/or projects, you gain an overview of the company's salary costs.
- Select Accounting - Cost centres. Three groups are now shown, of which two are inactive.
- Click on the gear of the relevant group to give it a name.
- Select Save.
- Select New cost unit to add a cost unit.
- Choose which cost centre the cost unit belongs to if you are working with more than one cost centre.
- Fill in the fields Short name and Name.
- Select Spara.
Here's how to create projects:
- Select Accounting - Projects.
- Click New project.
- Fill in the project details.
- Select Spara.
You don’t need to do anything for cost and revenue accounts. If you want to register cost centres and projects on asset and liability accounts, add that to each account.
Do the following:
- Select Settings - Chart of accounts.
- Select the account to which you want to post cost centres or projects.
- Select Edit.
- Check the Allow cost centres/Allow projects box.
- Select Spara.
Now you need to configure the settings for the employees.
- Payroll
- Select the employee and choose the Pay tab.
- Click the pen in the Cost centre/Project field.
- Select the cost centre/project to be specified on pay rows for the employee.
- Set up any distribution for how the employee's salary should be posted.
The settings carry over to the payslip. There you can adjust the distribution using percentages or amounts, or remove the cost centre/project from the pay run.
