Getting started with Payroll

Here, we describe how you can get started in the best way. If you have previously worked in Payroll you can read about how to get started in the topic Getting started with Payroll if you have previously worked in Payroll.

For you who use Payroll in Practice management there are two different collaboration variants. In the variant Practice management, you and your customer choose who is doing what in the payroll work, and in the variant Start, it is just you as an agency that can access the service. Make sure to have the correct settings from the beginning

It is much easier if you have all the correct settings when you start working in your program. When you log in to the program for the first time and go through the start guide, you fill in certain information, and under Settings you can edit and enter additional settings for the company.

If you have previously paid out salaries in another payroll program, you can enter your input values under Payroll - Employees and the Input values tab.

Add all employees

All employees who will receive a salary in Payroll must be entered in the employee list. The information is used to calculate pay, taxes, holiday, etc.

Register times, deviations, travel expenses and other expenses

In Payroll, you can easily register different payroll events via the calendar or during the pay run.

Via the additional services Employee and Travel & Expenses, the employees can register their own times, deviations and expenses. The data is then transferred to the employees' payslips in the Payroll.

Create pay runs and payslips

When it is time for salary payment, you should create a pay run. Registrations made in the calendar up until the pay run deviation period will be included on each employee's payslip. Additionally, you can report deviations and add information directly on the pay run.

Process payroll and send payslips

When a pay run has been submitted, you create send payment to bank, post it to the ledger and send payslips to the employees. The easiest way to do this is by using Payslip, since the employees will then receive their payslips digitally and can read them both online and in the Employee mobile app. If the company has activated the integration with Kivra, payslips are automatically forwarded to employees who have a digital mailbox with them.

Submit payroll tax report to Skatteverket

When all payments and any corrections for the current period are complete, you simply send the payroll tax report automatically to the company's space at Skatteverket directly from Payroll.
